At yesterday’s ceremony, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed was re-appointed as the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed was re-appointed as the Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, and Uz Ahmed Usham was re-appointed as the Attorney General.

These re-appointments come after the opposition-controlled parliament, The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) rejected three ministerial appointments yesterday: Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, and Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haider.

However, the remaining 19 ministers of the 22-member cabinet were approved.
