Muizzu Vows Prosperity for Maldivian Workers in Five-Year Plan

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has articulated his commitment to ensuring a prosperous and fulfilling life for every Maldivian worker within the span of the next five years. 

This declaration was made during his address commemorating International Workers’ Day.

In his speech, Muizzu elaborated on the measures the government is undertaking to support the workforce. He emphasised initiatives such as the increment of salaries and allowances for employees across various sectors. 

Furthermore, he highlighted the identification of 22 specific areas reserved exclusively for Maldivian workers, aimed at enhancing employment opportunities within the nation. Addressing concerns over illegal foreign labour practices, Muizzu noted the enforcement of stringent measures, including the deportation of foreign nationals engaged in unauthorised work or business activities within Maldives, typically within a 48-hour timeframe.

Central to the government’s agenda, Muizzu outlined plans to prioritise vocational training and instil a culture of diligence among the workforce. Additionally, he underscored the establishment of support services such as daycare facilities to facilitate families in their pursuit of prosperity.

Concluding his address, Muizzu expressed optimism regarding the future prospects for Maldivian workers, citing the government’s proactive efforts. He assured that avenues for economic advancement would continue to be cultivated.

Throughout his speech, Muizzu extended his regards to both local and foreign workers contributing to the nation’s development across diverse sectors.
