The NDMA reported today that the heavy rains have disrupted the supply of perishable and other staple commodities in some islands.
According to the Met Office, the weather will be safe for travel from tomorrow until Wednesday. Consequently, the NDMA has checked the situation on the islands and is urging the prompt delivery of food and essential supplies during this favourable window.
Yellow and orange alerts have been issued for several parts of the country. The wind and sea conditions remain strong, and travellers are advised to avoid unnecessary journeys.
