Over 15 Mosques to Open Across Maldives During Ramadan, Says Islamic Ministry

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs will see a total of 19 mosques opened across the Maldives during the month of Ramadan.

Fifteen of these mosques have already been inaugurated, while the remaining facilities are scheduled to open during the holy month. The new mosques include both government-built and privately constructed facilities.

Mosques in Malé with a capacity exceeding 800 worshippers are now equipped with air-conditioning, including four key mosques, while air-conditioning issues at the Salman Mosque have been resolved. Maldivian hafiz will lead Taraweeh prayers at both the Islamic Centre and Salman Mosque throughout Ramadan.

This year, Ihya Forums will be conducted on ten islands in the atolls, marking the highest number of such forums held in the atolls to date. In addition, ten teachers have been dispatched to ten branches of the Quran Centre to support religious education and activities during Ramadan.
