The People’s National Congress (PNC) leads the political party registry with 68,665 registered members, according to the latest figures published by the Elections Commission. The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) follows in second place with 43,765 members, marking a difference of 24,900 members between the two parties.
The Elections Commission has published the verified membership numbers of registered political parties, in line with Article 28(c) of Law Number 2013/4 (Political Parties Act), which requires the verification and publication of party membership figures every six months.
As part of the Commission’s ongoing digital service enhancements, applications to register in the political party membership registry are now processed exclusively through E-Faas, via the Commission’s portal at my.elections.gov.mv.
With the latest system update, the submission of complaints related to political party membership registers has been temporarily suspended. The Commission also confirmed that its main portal is now widely accessed by the public for a range of services.
Alongside joining or leaving political parties, members of the public can now request and obtain official certificates of non-membership through the portal.
