Police Arrest 41-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Abuse of 13-Year-Old Girl

Police have arrested a 41-year-old Maldivian man following allegations that he sexually, physically, and psychologically abused a 13-year-old girl in an island within the Upper South Police division.

According to authorities, the alleged abuse was reported to the police on 31 August 2026.

Following an initial review of the claims, officers took the suspect into custody on 3 September 2026 in connection with the case.

Police officials confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
