President Appoints Rifath Abdulla as ECM Member

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Rifath Abdulla as a member of the Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM).

Rifath Abdulla took the oath of office and signed the declaration of membership at a ceremony held today at the President’s Office. Justice Mohamed Saleem of the Supreme Court of the Maldives administered the oath, after which President Dr Muizzu formally presented the letter of appointment.

The appointment was made in accordance with Article 167(a) and Article 168(b) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives, and Article 4(a) of Law No. 8/2008 (Elections Commission Act).
