President Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes on Martyrs’ Day

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu said the courage and resilience shown by the nation’s fallen heroes would endure as a lasting source of strength for the Maldives, as the country observed Martyrs’ Day yesterday.

In a post shared on X, the President paid tribute to soldiers who were martyred in defence of the nation and those who lost their lives in the line of duty. He said their sacrifices remain an enduring part of the nation’s identity.

Marking 482 years since the martyrdom of Sultan Ali VI, the President said each generation would continue to produce individuals who reflect the heroism of Sultan Ali VI and uphold the honour and dignity of the Maldives. He also expressed hope for the country’s continued independence under the grace of Allah.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also marked Martyrs’ Day in a post on X, paying tribute to the legacy of Sultan Ali VI and extending greetings to the public.
