RACL to Establish Tourism Zone at Faresmaathoda Airport

Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has entered into an agreement with Silver Land Hotels to create a tourism zone at Faresmaathoda Airport. 

Ahmed Mubeen, RACL’s Managing Director, and Ibrahim Mohamed, Silver Land Hotels’ head of project management, signed the contract.

At the signing ceremony, Mubeen announced that the agreement entails the development of a 100-room hotel, a project valued at USD 20 million. 

He emphasised that the hotel is expected to generate approximately 200 jobs. Mubeen also stated that further investigations are underway, with the aim of commencing the project within the next three months.

Faresmaathoda Airport, located on 19 hectares of reclaimed land, features a 1,200-metre runway and was constructed at a cost of USD 9.4 million.
