Roads Near Male’ Schools to Close Briefly for English Listening Exam

Roads near secondary schools in Malé will be closed to general traffic tomorrow morning, from 9:15 AM to 10:30 AM, to facilitate the IGCSE English Listening examination.

The Maldives Police Service announced the temporary closure to ensure a quiet environment for students taking the exam. Police have urged residents and visitors in the surrounding areas to avoid loud activities, including construction work, during the exam period.

Authorities expressed gratitude to the public for their ongoing cooperation and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary traffic restrictions.

The temporary restrictions come as more than 8,000 candidates across the Maldives sit for their Cambridge IGCSE O-Level and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, which run from September 20 through November 12 across 267 examination centres nationwide.

In the Greater Male’ Area alone, 3,222 IGCSE candidates and 2,869 SSC candidates are taking their exams across 25 designated centres.
