President and Commander-in-Chief Dr Mohamed Muizzu conferred November 3 commemorative shields on five military veterans during the official Victory Day ceremony at Republic Square last night.
The honours were presented to the surviving heroes of the reconnaissance patrol team dispatched during the attempted coup on November 3, 1988: Sergeant First Class Ibrahim Shareef, Staff Sergeant Hussain Ali, Sergeant Hussain Manik, Corporal Abdullah Naseem, and Lance Corporal Abdullah Mufeed.
