Tourist Arrivals in the Maldives Increase by 9.4 Percent in 2025

The Maldives is currently receiving an average of over 6,000 tourists per day, according to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.
As of 10 June 2025, a total of 1,016,377 tourists had arrived in the country, representing a 9.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Daily arrivals this year have averaged 6,313, with steady monthly figures reported across the first half of the year. Tourist arrivals by month included 214,863 in January, 214,091 in February, 203,468 in March, 198,322 in April, and 135,614 in May. As of 10 June, a further 50,019 tourists had been recorded.
China, Russia, and the United Kingdom remain the top three source markets for Maldivian tourism in 2025. China led with 122,088 arrivals, followed by Russia with 112,638, and the United Kingdom with 102,022 visitors.
In terms of accommodation preferences, resorts accounted for the majority of stays, hosting 71.9 percent of total tourist arrivals. Guesthouses followed at 22.8 percent, while hotels accounted for 2.8 percent.
There are currently 1,203 registered tourism facilities in operation across the Maldives, collectively offering 64,033 beds.
