Another amazing month for PS+ subscribers

The free games for April for PS+ subscribers are:

  • Oddworld: Soulstorm
  • Days Gone
  • Zombie Army 4: Dead War

You can now enjoy the latest game in the Oddworld platformer series for free. This beloved cult classic series from the original PlayStation generation has seen a recent resurgence and is now available for all PS5 owners for free. Next up is the huge PS4 hit Days Gone - this unique take on the zombie survival/shooter/motorbike genre is a guaranteed good time for any fan of any of those genres.

Speaking of shooting and zombies, you can never go wrong with some Dead Wars. From the creators of the Sniper Elite games comes Zombie Army, a game set in an alternate universe where you get to fight zombified versions of Hitler, huge sharks and everyone else. Zombie Army is a fun game to experience in coop as well, with up to 4 players.

A good month for zombie fans.

Call of Duty Warzone new details leaked, and Activision doesn’t want people talking about it

Warzone is set to start a new season this April with a bang. A huge in-game event will signify the start of the new season and a new map. Full details of the leak can be found in the videogameschronicle article about it.

Call of Duty leaks aren’t anything new and are usually hot topics on the internet as soon as they appear. What’s different about this particular leak is that Activision has been actively going after any journalist online who talked about it or linked to the leaked trailer – practically guaranteeing the authenticity of the actual leak itself.

PlayStations Play at Home initiative

PlayStation is giving out some extra free stuff for anyone who’s feeling a bit bored at home. Their new “Play at Home” initiative aims to help those who may be stuck indoors for an extended period of time by giving out some free games for all users. This initiative started last month, with some new games having been added since then and some having been taken out. You can still claim all the games in the picture above from the PSN store.

As an added bonus, Horizon Zero Dawn will be available as part of Play at Home starting from April 19. Considered by many to be one of the best games of the generation, you should make sure to check it out if you haven’t played it yet.

No Man’s Sky continues its streak of good will

After an incredibly disastrous launch, No Man’s Sky is one of those rare games that -eventually- turned a horrible first impression into a completely new and refreshing experience.

The game released in an extremely barebones state with many of its promised features completely missing. After a lukewarm response from critics and even anger from fans, developer Hello Games started working on fixing their game. Since the original release back in 2016, No Man’s Sky has received regular free content updates and patches that has changed the game in incredible ways.

The scope of the game currently is much bigger than what was originally promised back at release, and Hello Games is still pumping out new content. Expeditions is the most recent major update and was released at the start of April. If you’re a fan of the exploration and crafting genre, this might be the game you want to try next.

Crash Bandicoot is back in a sequel and a mobile game

Crash Bandicoot was at one time the face of PlayStation. Every bit as well-known globally as Sonic or Mario, Crash was at its peak during the 90s before slowly fading into the background of other franchises. Fortunately, this revered series has received a number of hit new releases in the past few years. Starting with a remake of the original platformer games, Crash then went to remake the CTR racing game before moving onto an original sequel in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

Rounding all these out is the recent release of the Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! mobile game. This free-to-play game is a mix of Temple Run and simple traditional Crash Bandicoot gameplay elements. Our only question is – why wasn’t it named Crash Dash?

Mortal Kombat returns to the silver screen

Originally slated to be released April 7th, the movie was delayed to April 23rd

It’s been more than twenty years since the last Mortal Kombat movie, and while the MK video game series has flourished, the live action movies have never reached the same heights. The 2021 Mortal Kombat movie has been in production hell since the late 90s with various studios, directors, scripts and even the company owners changing in the timeframe since then. But fans don’t have to wait long to finally see the satisfyingly brutal Fatalities on the big screen, as the movie is set to release later this month in theaters and HBO’s streaming service.
