Call of Duty developers give an update about the future of the franchise

Activision has recently shared with the community both its short-term and long-term plans for their flagship franchise. Their current plans include a host of quality-of-life changes including console Field of View slider and major performance improvements across all platforms. Players can expect these changes to start rolling out with Season Two that started this week. They also revealed that the next two planned Call of Duty games are Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty Warzone 2, both of which are being developed by Infinity Ward and will release in 2022.

They revealed that these games will be using a new game engine that will make future development and updates easier.

The Nvidia database leak strikes again as another leaked game is officially revealed

Chrono Cross was a PS1 RPG by Square Enix and was a spiritual sequel to Chrono Trigger, which is generally considered to be the pinnacle of RPG gameplay and storytelling. While Chrono Trigger has had various ports over the years for modern platforms, this is the first time that players will be able to experience Chrono Cross legally in two decades.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition will release on April 7th on all current platforms. The game is just one more victim of the notorious Nvidia leak which revealed a huge list of still (officially) unannounced games.

Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update is out now

Cyberpunk 2077’s long awaited next-gen update is finally out, with many claiming that this version of the game should have been the one we got in the first place. While the game still does not live up to the hype and promises that CD Projekt Red had built up over the past decade, the next-gen update fixes a lot - if not most – of the issues that plagued the original release. The PS5/Xbox Series X version includes raytracing and a stable 60fps mode as well as various bug fixes and even Dualsense support for PlayStation players. The most immediate change is the huge upgrade to visual fidelity as can be seen from the above screenshot. The PS5 version of the game looks far sharper and has more minute details easily visible, with even the HUD elements being easier to read.

Along with the Cyberpunk update, we also have a minor update for GTA V fans. The next-gen update for GTA V will launch on March 15 with a free version of GTA Online for PS5 users for the first three months. Rockstar also reassured fans that work on the next GTA is well under way.

[Rumour] Some updates on the Resident Evil 4 remake

While still not officially announced, Resident Evil 4 Remake is an open secret in the video games industry. The title was mentioned in the Nvidia leak as an upcoming project, and many industry insiders have confirmed that Capcom has been working on the game for a while.

One insider revealed that Capcom wants to keep a lot of the cheesy, campy feeling of the original game while also emphasizing the horror aspect of the title. Many of the game’s iconic characters and lines will be kept as in the original game, but significant portions of the game world will see a lot of changes. For one thing, RE4 Remake will be mostly set at night and Capcom is expanding on Ada’s story by giving her a proper additional campaign this time around.

Resident Evil 4 is among the highest rated games of all time, and fans wait in nervous anticipation to see how Capcom will handle a remake of one of gaming’s crown titles. It’s expected that the game will be revealed in early 2022 with a release of late 2022.

Ubisoft top executives exasperated with players for “not getting” NFTs

NFTs in 2022 are to the gaming community what tulips were to the Dutch in the 1630s. In a sudden market craze, people in Holland started paying as much as $50,000 to $150,000 for a single tulip flower bulb before the bubble crashed and a lot of people lost a lot of money very quickly. We see the same pattern with NFTs today, with simple AI generated pictures fetching prices anywhere from $10,000 to $500,000 from collectors. And much like Holland in the 1630s, there are many companies and investors eager to cash in on the NFT bubble before it eventually goes away.

Ubisoft is one such company as it recently tried to create in-game cosmetic NFTs for a limited number of Ubisoft titles. Players can earn these items (usually through hundreds of hours of gameplay) and either keep them or sell them to other players with Ubisoft taking a cut of what they obviously hope will be inflated prices for the NFT skins. Ubisoft was unable to answer why they need NFTs to make this work as Steam has been doing essentially the same thing for close to a decade with traditional digital trading.

A Bioshock movie is in the works

Netflix is determined to be the go-to platform for video game adaptations as it just announced yet another project – Bioshock. Netflix will be partnering with the original game’s developers to bring the beloved franchise to a live action screen.

There aren’t any additional details about the project yet, but possibly Netflix and 2K are hoping to promote the BioShock movie and BioShock 4 when both are closer to release.
