The free games for the month of July for PS+ subscribers are:
- EA Sports UFC 4 (PS4)
- Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure (PS4)
- Planet Coaster: Console Edition (PS5)
UFC 4 is a welcome free addition for any MMA fan. Unlike the more colorful wresting games, UFC titles focus more on the finesse of the sport and puts players right in the center of the ring in control of everything. The game gives you multiple avenues to play including online ranked matches and a more personal career mode.
Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot may be a mouthful to say, but it’s also a heap of fun to play. Originally a DLC for Borderlands 2, Tiny Tina’s Assault proved to be such a fan favourite that the developers ended up making an entire sequel based on the concept of Borderlands looter/shooter and Dungeons & Dragons style narrative that it’s based on. This PS+ offering is the original DLC as a standalone experience before the full sequel launches in March of this year.
Planet Coaster will help to scratch that Sim Theme Park itch for many. Go crazy and build your dream amusement park complete with huge rides, mini games, restaurants, castles to visit and employees in full princess and animal costumes to amuse your guests. If you’re not sure you’ll enjoy this type of game, why not give this a try? It’s free.
February may be the busiest month of the year for gamers
The first of this month’s heavy hitters is Dying Light 2. Six years in the making, the sequel to the original 2016 game has just opened to a lot of praise. Dying Light 2 improves on everything the first game did well - the parkour/exploration/co-op and endless loot - and places it all in a bigger and better world with a new faction system.
The rest of this month is packed full of heavy hitters too as Horizon: Forbidden West, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and Elden Ring all releases within a few days of each other. There are also other titles to watch out for like Sifu, King of Fighters XV and Evil Dead to keep us cozily indoors and occupied for the whole month.
There’s a lot of Star Wars games in development

Despite EA’s mishandling of the Star Wars gaming IP, it seems Disney wants to go all in on the franchise in the gaming industry as it recently revealed a slew of new Star Wars titles in development across a range of genres and different studios.
Respawn Entertainment is currently working on a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order as well as a Star Wars FPS game that is yet to be revealed. In addition to that, Respawn is working in collaboration with new studio Bit Reactor to make a new Star Wars strategy game. Ubisoft joins the fun as well with an open world Star Wars game, while BioWare is remaking Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs ever made – for modern consoles. There are a few mores title such as Star Wars Eclipse being made by Quantic Dream and even a Star Wars based arena shooter coming out in 2022 as well.
All in all, the next few years look great for Star Wars fans. You can begin appreciating these games as early as April of this year with the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which tells the story of all nine mainline movies in one game.
Kojima fans rejoice!
No, unfortunately we don’t have any updates on any new Kojima games. But you can be the first one to find out as Kojima launches a new podcast on Amazon’s Audible called Hideo Kojima's Radioverse where he’ll just chat with guests - including from his own fanbase - about movies and games.
Of course, you might need to be fluent in Japanese to listen to the Radioverse.
Five Nights at Freddy’s movie update (?)

Five Nights at Freddy’s has received a lot of attention in recent years as it proved to be a unique game that people really wanted to experience via their favourite streamers and YouTubers. Its popularity soared to the point where a live action movie was greenlit a few years ago. The movie suffered in production hell and even though writers and actors were already attached to the picture, little work has been done till today.
It was only very recently that we received an update from one of the producers on the movie who reassured fans that the Five Nights movie is still on its way. Even though this is a relief for fans of the game, we might still be waiting a while before we see the movie itself.
