Elden Ring has been delayed to February

2022 is packed with highly anticipated releases, and one of the most hyped games of the upcoming year has just been delayed. Fortunately, Elden Ring’s delay was only from the original January release date to mid-February. Unfortunately, the new release date is right next to some of the biggest releases of 2022 as Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West and Destiny 2 The Witch Queen all release within a few days of each other. February may be a tough month for many gamer’s wallets.
Elden Ring is an open-world action RPG in the same vein as Dark Souls and will be coming out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC on February 25th 2022.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter is on the rise
Monster Hunter has always been one of Capcom’s core game franchises along with the likes of Resident Evil and Street Fighter. The latest game in the series is Monster Hunter Rise which came out on the Nintendo Switch earlier this year and will come out on PCs on January 12th 2022. The last console game in the franchise was Monster Hunter World which came out in 2018 on all major platforms and has sold more than 20 million copies to date.
Capcom has been on a winning streak lately with all its recently released games being commercial and critical successes. The hits keep coming as we eagerly wait for more news on the yet-to-be-announced Resident Evil 4 remake.

If you’ve been struggling in ranked lobbies, you know what to do.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus new details revealed
Back in February of this year Nintendo revealed Pokémon Legends: Arceus to a lot of fanfare as fans thought they were finally getting the open world, 3D free-roaming Pokémon game they had been wanting for decades. And while there are certainly a lot of elements similar to Breath of the Wild in the original trailer, new details have revealed that Pokémon Legends: Arceus may be closer to Monster Hunter in game design. There’s a central hub where you can accept missions before going out into the world to complete those missions - and then return to the hub to take on more missions.
Pokémon is easily one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, yet Nintendo has always played it safe with their prized IP and rarely if ever tries to do anything new with the games. While Pokémon Legends may not be what fans were hoping for it’s still a step in a more exciting direction for the series.
Marvel’s Avengers game faces more fan backlash
Marvel’s Avengers has so far been unable to replicate the success of its big brother in the MCU. The latest controversy around the game stems from the fact that a game update in March reduced the amount of exp that players got from activities resulting in a significantly slower leveling process. Although the whole community was against this change, the developers justified it as saying they wanted a slower leveling process to give players time to get used to the new abilities they got by leveling up.
This reasoning has since faced a lot of questions, especially as the game introduced paid exp boosters to the premium store in a recent update despite the game developers having promised not to sell any pay-to-win items like that. Fans are livid as they now claim that the developers are purposefully introducing problems into the game and then selling a made-up solution for real money. Unfortunately, Marvel’s Avengers isn’t the only game to try such predatory monetization tactics.
Far Cry branching out

Far Cry 6 released earlier this month. There’s not a lot to say about it except that it’s more Far Cry. Ubisoft likes to keep its games wrapped tight without changing much, so if you like the usual Far Cry formula you’ll likely enjoy the game.
In addition to the sixth installment in the main franchise Ubisoft is also working on not just one, but two Far Cry animated series. We have the name of one of the series - Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. This will be based on the Far Cry 3 expansion Blood Dragon. As you might have guessed, these series are the result of a partnership between Ubisoft and Netflix to bring more of Ubisoft’s gaming franchises to a broader audience.
