MA. Morning View Burned Down in Fire

Ma. Morning View burned down early this morning, leaving at least 32 people displaced and three people with minor injuries while trying to escape the fire. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has allocated temporary accommodation for the displaced.


NDMA says that 56 people were taken to the evacuation center set up in Ghiyassuddin School, including 17 children. While the Eastern side of the building is livable and residents have moved back since, the Western building was burned down beyond habitation.


NDMA also states that the displaced residents have been provided temporary accommodation in seven guesthouses, they are also provided with temporary clothes and essentials. They are also provided with a daily allowance of MVR 200, and MVR 1,500 to buy basic clothing other essentials.


The fire is currently under investigation by the police.
