Chesku, the Nurse

Angelique Cheska Danica R. de Jesus, known to friends as Chesku, is a 29 year old from the Philippines currently working as a Senior Nurse. She moved to the Maldives in the year 2019.

She didn’t know much about the Maldives until she saw an ad on the internet about a job opportunity. She says while she applied for the vacant job opportunity, she didn’t think she would get a callback, which to her surprise, she got within 2 months.

Chesku says that her interest in this field of work is influenced by her mother who is also a nurse back home, along with her brother.

Chesku said that working in the Maldives is joyful because of the people she has met, and overall, Maldivians have been kind and caring. She specified how much she appreciates her colleagues for their kindness and helpfulness.

Chesku, with a frown on her face, mentioned that it has been two years since she last saw her family, and has not been able to go back because of the COVID-19 situation. She also said that she calls her mom and other family members on her off days. She expressed that these calls last hours and that she misses everyone back home and is hopefully waiting to meet them soon.
