Food and Beverage Show Excites Hulhumale’ With Tasty Treats And Culinary Delights

In a celebration of culinary excellence, the 7th edition of the Food & Beverage Show, organized by Highrise Pvt Ltd, set out to enchant taste buds.

Held from 18-20th January at Central Park, Hulhumale’, the Food & Beverage Show brought over 35 exhibitors together “The exhibition featured industry giants like BHM Traders, co-sponsors MHA Pvt Ltd and Nestle’ Professional Maldives, as well as a host of other notable participants.” said Highrise Marketing Manager Hassaan.

According to BHM Deputy Manager Mohamed Rajih, the exhibition presents a great opportunity for F&B businesses to build their customer base. “After participating in last year’s exhibition, we found that customers increased in the long-run. We were able to approach potential customers and convert them into returning customers.” he said, adding that the exhibition recorded a footfall of approximately 500 people per day.

The Food and Beverage Show showcased a diverse range of products from domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers. 

Key exhibitors at the Food & Beverage Show included ADK Trading, Horizon Fisheries Maldives, Pyramid, Sunny Enterprises, 3A Store, Island Beverages, and INK Investment. Others included LuiKaanaa, Handy Water, Best Buy Maldives, and MU Store, as well as Waffle World, Armie’s Cafe, Sauced Up by Lucie, Treats by Luf, and Dessert Boutique.

Highlights of the event comprised lucky draws offering visitors the chance to win special and grand prizes, in addition to musical acts such as Bidhabin among others. 

The show also hosted the Bake and Delicacy Show organised by the Chef’s Guild of Maldives, which offered several cake and pastry decorating workshops and competitions open to the public.

The Chef’s Guild lead representative Mujthaba Abdulla explained that the competition featured 4 categories: novelty cakes, wedding cakes, sugar flowers and a live competition scheduled for the last day of the exhibition. “(Through this exhibition), our aim was to showcase the artistic talent involved in being a chef or a baker. Most people in the Maldives view being a chef as merely someone who cooks. In my opinion, the culinary industry is a respectable field for young Maldivians to build a career.” he said. 

With over 30 participants, the judging panel for the competition consisted of experienced Maldivian chefs recognised by World Association of Chefs’ Societies. They were Maha Naseer, Mohamed Abdulla, Joodhy Khalid and Shihama Shafeeu. 

The Food and Beverage Show was open to the public from 4pm – 6pm and 8pm-11pm.
