President Anura Kumara Disanayaka of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka will make a state visit to the Maldives from 28 to 30 July 2025, at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
According to the President’s Office, during the visit, President Muizzu and President Disanayaka are scheduled to hold official discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.
This marks President Disanayaka’s first official visit to the Maldives since taking office in September 2024. His visit comes as the Maldives and Sri Lanka commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations, established on 26 July 1965.
The upcoming discussions are expected to reinforce the long-standing friendship between the two neighbouring countries and explore new opportunities for collaboration in regional development, trade, education, health, and people-to-people ties.
