PCB Announces Board Appointments at MTCC, MACL and Addu Airport; Removals from Visit Maldives and MPL

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced a series of appointments and removals across several state-owned enterprises, including Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), and Addu International Airport Private Limited.

Among the changes, Sa’aadha Ibrahim was appointed Chairperson and a member of the Board of Directors of MTCC, effective 24 June 2026. She succeeds Mohamed Afeef Hussain, who has since been appointed Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation.

PCB also appointed Ahmed Nasif as a member of the Board of Directors of MACL, effective from the same date.

Nasif previously served as Chairman of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) under the current administration. He was removed from that position on 5 March last year and appointed Chairman of Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO). During former President Abdulla Yameen’s administration, Nasif served as Managing Director of HDC and previously held the same position at the former Thilafushi Corporation.

Sherina Solih of S. Hithadhoo was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Addu International Airport Private Limited, also effective from 24 June.

Board Members Removed

PCB also confirmed the removal of Aishath Ali from the Board of Directors of Visit Maldives Corporation Limited and Aminath Raisham from the Board of Directors of Maldives Ports Limited.

Both removals took effect on 24 June 2026.

The board did not provide reasons for the appointments or removals.

New Member Appointed to PCB

The board additionally announced the appointment of Zaina Abdulla from Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Dhaandhoo, as a member of the PCB, representing the banking sector.

According to PCB, Zaina brings more than a decade of experience in banking and finance, particularly in corporate finance, Islamic banking, and state-owned enterprise governance.
