Ooredoo Mas Race 2026 Set for K. Maafushi This Friday

Ooredoo Maldives will host the Ooredoo Mas Race 2026 this Friday at K. Maafushi. Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources, the event brings together local fishing teams and enthusiasts to celebrate Maldivian maritime heritage and sportsmanship.

Sixteen teams will compete in this year’s tournament, representing corporate entities, government institutions, and members of the public. The competition features a total prize pool of MVR 43,000, with MVR 25,000 awarded to the first-place team, MVR 10,000 to the second-place team, and MVR 5,000 to the third-place team. Additional individual cash prizes of MVR 1,000 each will be awarded to the Best Fisherman, the Best Fisherwoman, and the participant who lands the Biggest Catch.

Beyond the core angling contest, organisers aim to run the event as a community festival that promotes unity, teamwork, and local traditions.
