Over 8,000 Candidates Begin O-Level and SSC Examinations Across Maldives

The national Cambridge IGCSE O-Level and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations have begun across the Maldives, with thousands of students sitting their papers at examination centres nationwide.
The examination period runs from 20 September to 12 November, with papers being conducted at 267 designated examination centres across the country.
According to figures from the Ministry of Education, 8,111 candidates are registered for the IGCSE examinations, while 7,776 candidates are scheduled to sit for the SSC examinations.
The majority of candidates are taking their examinations in the atolls. A total of 4,889 IGCSE candidates and 4,907 SSC candidates are registered across 242 regional examination centres.
In the Greater Malé Area, 3,222 IGCSE candidates and 2,869 SSC candidates are sitting their examinations across 25 centres.
The examinations will continue over the coming weeks, with candidates sitting papers according to the examination schedules for their respective subjects and qualifications.
