Dedicated Helpline “1456” Launched for Youth Mental Health Support

A dedicated free helpline has been introduced to support youth mental health and provide social assistance.
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness introduced the “1456” helpline to give every young person easy, single-point access to counselling, mental health support, and practical guidance for a healthy lifestyle.
The Ministry said the hotline will provide tailored counselling services, immediate psychological first aid, and health screening support for individuals and families.
It will also offer sessions focused on life skills and mental health awareness, alongside broader assistance aimed at supporting both physical and mental well-being.
The Ministry stated that the services will be available by calling the hotline between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm daily, excluding government holidays.
The national mental health helpline, “1677”, has been providing 24-hour psychological assistance. Free counselling services are also available through the Happiness Lounge, located at the Youth Hub operated by the Ministry of Youth.

Young people can now call 1456 to access counselling, mental health support, wellbeing guidance and other services based on their individual needs.
