Youth Remanded In Custody Over Suspected Violence Against Police Officer

The Criminal Court has remanded a 27-year-old man to 15 days in police custody in connection with a suspected act of violence against a police officer.

The suspect, who is from HDh. Nolhivaranfaru, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the duties of a police officer.

The remand order stated that the man had allegedly threatened police officers and physically assaulted one officer by grabbing him by the neck.

During the court proceedings, the suspect denied the allegations. However, the court noted that the man has a prior criminal record and ordered that he be held in custody at a custodial prison for a period of 15 days while the investigation continues.
