Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has introduced a new initiative to alleviate the financial burden on households and businesses with long-standing unpaid water bills.

In a statement issued on last Thursday, the company revealed that penalties on unpaid water bills, dated up to December 31, 2024, will be fully waived for customers who make payments within a specific one-month period. Customers who settle their outstanding bills between December 1 and December 31, 2025, will be eligible for the penalty waiver.

This move follows a similar programme run by the company last year. In addition to the penalty waiver, MWSC is offering instalment payment plans to assist customers further. Under these plans, customers can enter into a formal agreement to pay their arrears in monthly instalments, with penalties waived once the payments are completed according to the agreed terms.

MWSC has encouraged all customers to take advantage of this opportunity to clear their outstanding bills and ensure regular payments going forward.

For further information, customers can contact MWSC via the customer care hotline at 105 or email at mail@mwsc.com.mv.
