Türkiye Navy Fleet Commander Pays Courtesy Call on President Muizzu

The Commander of the Türkiye Navy Fleet, Admiral Kadir Yıldız, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at the President’s Office this morning.

During today’s meeting, President Muizzu expressed gratitude for the recent gift of a naval ship and for Türkiye’s continued support across multiple sectors. He noted that the gesture reflects the strong and enduring ties between the Maldives and Türkiye.

Admiral Yıldız reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expressed appreciation for the close cooperation between the two nations.

On Friday, August 15, in a ceremony held in Hulhumale’, the  Turkish naval vessel, named Dharumavantha, was officially handed over to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Both President Muizzu and Admiral Yıldız concluded the meeting by highlighting the importance of continued collaboration and reaffirming their shared commitment to further enhancing ties between the Maldives and Türkiye.
