Centara, SAILS to Offer 40 Tourism Jobs and Apprenticeships at Open Day

Centara Hotels & Resorts and the Sustainable and Inclusive Employment (SAILS) Project will host an Open Day at Villa College tomorrow, offering 40 job and apprenticeship opportunities to young people seeking careers in the tourism sector.

The event will take place at Villa College Hall from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, August 23, targeting unemployed jobseekers, young people seeking to enter the tourism industry and those looking to advance their hospitality careers.

Participants will be able to meet Centara’s recruitment and human resources teams, learn about different departments and career opportunities, and receive on-the-spot CV screening and mini interviews.

The programme will also include a presentation on Centara, its employee benefits and career development opportunities, followed by a panel discussion and question-and-answer session.

27 Jobs and 13 Apprenticeships Available

A total of 27 job vacancies and 13 six-month apprenticeship positions will be available through the participating Centara properties.

The job vacancies cover guest relations and front office, housekeeping, culinary, food and beverage service, and finance positions.

The apprenticeship programme will offer placements in culinary, food and beverage service, front office, housekeeping and human resources. Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of MVR 5,500.

Four Centara properties in the Maldives will participate in the initiative: Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives, Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives.

The event will begin with registration and networking, followed by an introduction to the SAILS Project and a Centara presentation. A panel discussion and Q&A will then be held before CV screening and mini interviews from 4 PM to 5 PM.
