Official PS5 faceplates available soon

PS5 owners will be able to buy official PS5 faceplates starting from February next year. This comes a couple of months after the first anniversary of the PS5 release and after several third-party companies who have already been making their own console covers since the PS5 released. Although a bit late to the party, PS5 owners can soon buy the official Sony licensed covers with matching DualSense controller color schemes as well.
Due to the ease of removing and adding new faceplates to the console, you can easily apply your own designs to the covers as well.
[Rumour] New PlayStation subscription service
According to Bloomberg and reliable industry insider Jason Schreier, Sony is planning on introducing a new subscription service to compete against Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft’s Game Pass has taken the gaming world by storm in recent years, allowing players to play hundreds of games – including critical hits and brand new first-party Microsoft titles like Halo Infinite – for a monthly fee as low as $9.99.
Game Pass is available on all Xbox consoles, PC, Android and iOS devices. While Sony already has a similar service called PS Now, it is much smaller in scale and doesn’t offer the variety of different games that Game Pass does. According to Jason Schreier, Sony is looking to remedy that with the new subscription service early next year that combines aspects of PS+ and PS Now and will give access to a huge catalog of PS1, PS2, PS3 PS4 and PS5 games.
Rocket League Sideswipe

Rocket League came out on mobile devices this month with what can best be described as a side-scrolling motorized football. Already being played by millions, the game does a great job of transferring the fast paced and hectic 3-D action of Rocket League into a slower 2-D plane for mobile.
Season 1 of the game is already ongoing, and if you’re a fan of the original game you will probably enjoy a few hours with this.
2021 has been a great year for VR
With Meta’s (at the time Facebook) marketing might behind it, the Oculus VR platform has been on a meteoric rise recently. Oculus VR headsets have become so popular that more Oculus headsets were sold than Xbox consoles in 2021. However, this might also have something to do with the fact that Microsoft is literally selling out of all the consoles they can produce because of supply limitations.
The VR gaming community has seen a lot of ups lately with amazing hits like Resident Evil 4 VR and more software support for the platform than ever before. With the PSVR2 likely coming out sometime in 2022, gamers can expect even better VR experiences on the horizon.
Sonic and even more Sonic

Sonic fans got a double dose of good news at The Game Awards with the premier of both a sequel to the hit Sonic the Hedgehog movie and a new open-world game titled Sonic Frontiers.
Sonic the Hedgehog movie was viewed favorably by fans and many are looking forward to the sequel which also stars Jim Carrey. Although not too much is known about Sonic Frontiers, fans are positive about the game from the trailer that was shown. Both the movie and game are set to release in 2022.
