The PS5 is getting quite a few upgraded PS4 games this week. The list starts with Rocket League and its new 120fps mode which also comes with a free Ratchet & Clank-themed skin bundle for all PS4 and PS5 players.

Next up is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Although not the latest release in the Assassin’s Creed series, Odyssey was a fan favorite and the new 60fps performance mode for PS5/Series consoles is a welcome addition.

We also have the stellar Ghost of Tsushima getting the Iki Island new expansion this week. If you haven’t tried the game yet, now is a great time to try it out as the PS5 version has better visuals, faster loading times, and higher framerates than the PS4 original.

Rumor: Fortnite’s new anime themed battle pass

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 8 is expected to start this September and leakers are already delving into the game code to try and predict what will be coming next. Multiple prolific leakers have confirmed an anime-themed battle pass for the next season – with one of the leaks pointing to a Naruto skin on the battle pass. These leakers are among those who have gotten their information correct in the past, so chances are they’re right on the mark this time as well.

While waiting for the next season, Fortnite players can play the new Impostors mode. Inspired by the indie hit Among Us, Fortnite Impostors will be a familiar sight with similar mechanics to the original game.

Dead Space is getting a remake

Considered one of the best horror games of all time, Dead Space is finally getting a remake on current-gen consoles. The last game released in the franchise was Dead Space 3 all the way back in 2013 on the PS3, with no new releases since then. Fans of the series have been waiting for close to a decade without any new content, so expectations are high for the new entry.

EA has confirmed the remake will be released on current-gen consoles only, so expect to play it only on PS5 and Series X/S consoles. The game is expected to be out sometime in 2022.

Final Fantasy 14 is the most popular MMO of this generation

And we are confident in stating that because so many people have bought the game in recent weeks that Square Enix had to halt new character creation as the sheer number of players online at the same time were degrading their servers. In addition to this, Square Enix also stopped selling digital versions of the game online because it ran out of stock. The game is so popular that people were buying the game quicker than Square could create new digital keys for selling.

This is doubly impressive because Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn has been out for more than eight years now. Unlike many other MMOs, Square gives regular content updates to its players while maintaining a high quality of narrative – which is a rarity for online games. This care given to the game has ensured a steady and sometimes exponential increase in player numbers throughout the game’s life.

If you are into MMORPGs, there has never been a better time to try out the game for yourself.

Pokémon Unite is taking the world by storm

Pokémon Unite is a Pokémon-themed moba game released on the Nintendo Switch back in July, and it was just announced to come to mobile devices on September 22nd. The game is free to play and offers a variety of different Pokémon with different playstyles for you to choose from. Season One for the game is currently underway, and it has already proven to be immensely popular worldwide. The colorful and fun visuals mixed with an easy-to-grasp combat system – compared to other games in this genre – means Pokémon Unite has found a huge audience on the Switch and is now looking to expand to mobile players.

The game offers full crossplay and cross-progression between all platforms. If you think you’ll enjoy playing a moba game with your favorite Pokémon then make sure to pre-register for the game today to get some cool bonuses on release.

Rumor: Netflix planning a Pokémon live-action series

In more Pokémon-related news, Netflix is working on a live-action series for the franchise. According to Variety, Netflix started work on this after the success of the Detective Pikachu movie. For the most part, fans loved the recent live-action movie and Netflix plans on building up on that to make an actual series for their streaming service.

Netflix hasn’t announced anything official about the series yet, so we don’t have a release date yet. It will reportedly be produced by the executive producer of the show Lucifer.
